Literature Text

Some say love is a flower.
It is delicate and takes nuturing to grow.
A flower needs care to bloom into a beautiful thing.

But a flower fades.
A flower remains ever delicate.
A flower has no strength.
A flower has no will.

I say love is a dragon.
It is delicate at first, yes.
It needs care to grow into a beautiful thing, yes.

But a dragon can live forever.
A dragon merely grows more powerful.
A dragon is all strength.
A dragon has will.
Love is delicate when it first starts out. It is tentative at first then leaps headfirst into places that sometimes it shouldn't. Flowers can't do that. They're stationary. But baby dragons can. They go where they will and they do what they want. Love is very much the same.

However, as time passes, dragon babies grow big and they learn quickly from past mistakes. So too, human love grows and learns. When you're with someone you love, you try to learn as much about them as possible. Then once you know everything, you really start to learn about them. The things that make them, them. And your love has strength then. It can withstand doubt and prejudice. And that strength grows with the time and effort put into the love.

That leads me to my final point. Love is not a feeling. It is an act of the Will. It is willing the good of another. I suppose if love is a feeling, then a rose would more aptly describe it. But Love is not a feeling. As love is so enmeshed with will power, a dragon very accurately describes love as a dragon is nothing but it's own will. Again, it does what it wants.

Therefore, Love is a dragon.
